Tigard-area drivers who commute south on OR 99W have until July 26 to weigh in on ODOT's plan to redesign four intersections near the OR 99W/OR 18 junction in Yamhill County.

The Oregon Department of Transportation is accepting feedback through an online open house that closes that day. ODOT announced the deadline in a bulletin earlier this week.

The project targets a cluster of intersections near McDougall Corner, roughly 20 miles south of Tigard along OR 99W between Newberg and Dundee. ODOT said construction is expected to begin in 2027 and continue through 2028.

Here are the four planned changes, according to ODOT's project materials:

• NE McDougall Road (west) closure: The connection between SE Locks Loop Road and NE Stoller Road will be closed. Drivers will reroute through the improved OR 99W/NE Stoller Road intersection.
• Turn lanes at NE Stoller Road: A new left-turn lane on OR 99W onto NE Stoller Road/SE Kreder Road, plus a right-turn lane on NE Stoller Road.
• Roundabout at OR 99W/OR 18: A new roundabout replaces the current intersection at NE McDougall Road and OR 18, removing NE McDougall Road's direct access to OR 99W at that location. ODOT said the roundabout will improve traffic flow and safety.
• NE McDougall Road realignment (milepost 29.2): The intersection moves southwest, closer to the new roundabout, and a two-way left-turn lane on OR 99W will be extended. ODOT said the realignment will make it easier for drivers to see oncoming traffic.

In its July 21 bulletin, ODOT said the agency is "improving safety along the OR 99W corridor by adding turning lanes, installing a roundabout, realigning intersections and access roads."

The online open house includes before-and-after slider photos of the proposed roundabout. Residents can view the materials, ask questions, and share feedback on the ODOT webpage.

No project cost estimate has been publicly released. ODOT has not announced a public hearing or design approval date beyond the 2027 construction start.
