Tualatin is getting a new place to blow off steam.

Rage Room Portland will open three smash rooms inside Stickmen Brewing Company's beer hall with a grand opening set for Aug. 1, from noon to 5 p.m.

The business, owned by Mark Maher, gives guests the option of smashing electronics, throwing axes or combining both activities. Sessions start at $35 for 15 minutes of destruction; ax throwing runs $25 per hour; a combo deal starts at $45. Safety gear — hard hat, coveralls, face shield and gloves — is included. The minimum age is 10.

Items on the smash menu include TVs, printers, fax machines, old video game systems and glass. The company says it recycles all materials through its Glass Hound program, a Portland-based initiative that partners with local bars and restaurants to collect and recycle glass products.

A portion of profits supports Oregon Dog Rescue and Puplandia, a volunteer-driven Oregon nonprofit based in Aloha that has rescued more than 300 dogs, according to a Rage Room Portland statement published July 23 by Your Oregon News.

"We've built a thriving community in Portland, with more than 175 active ax league members connecting every week," Maher told Your Oregon News.

Maher's team operates Celtic Axe Throwers, which he says has been running for more than eight years. The company also has locations in Austin, Texas, and San Diego. Rage Room Portland's first location opened inside Stormbreaker Brewery in Portland's St. Johns neighborhood in 2025.

Stickmen Brewing, founded in 2012, runs the Tualatin beer hall and a second location in Lake Oswego. The Tualatin taproom features 28 house-brewed beers on tap and wood-fired pizzas. Stickmen's website previously listed ax throwing as an attraction; whether Celtic Axe Throwers is replacing or supplementing that offering isn't clear from available information.

Maher said the goal is to get people "off of their screens, and in this case, come smash them."

The grand opening on Aug. 1 will include free rage room sessions, free ax throwing, happy-hour pricing on Stickmen beer and pizza, and free merchandise while supplies last. After opening day, the Tualatin location will operate Wednesday through Sunday, according to the Rage Room Portland website.
