Tualatin residents have two chances to attend City Council meetings in August. The council convenes Monday, August 10, at 5 p.m. at Tualatin City Services, 18880 SW Martinazzi Ave., with a second meeting on Monday, August 24, at the same time and place.
Agendas for neither meeting have been posted. The council meets on the second and fourth Monday of every month, according to the city's website. Agendas, minutes, and live-stream links are available at tualatinoregon.gov/city-council/city-council-meeting-information/.
Mayor Frank Bubenik leads the seven-member council, which includes María Reyes, Christen Sacco, Bridget Brooks, Cyndy Hillier, Octavio Gonzalez, and Valerie Pratt. Residents can reach City Hall at 503-692-2000.
Downtown revitalization moves forward separately
While no agenda has confirmed the topic for either August meeting, the city's Downtown Revitalization Project is entering a new stage. Metro awarded Tualatin $740,000 through its 2040 Planning and Development Grant program, the city announced July 13, to fund Phase 3 of the project.
Phase 3 is scheduled to begin in fall 2026 and run through spring 2028. It will turn community input gathered in the first two phases into an urban design framework and updated development standards for roughly 300 acres centered around the Lake at the Commons, an area the city calls the Core Opportunity Reinvestment Area.
The project launched in April 2025. Phase 2 brought hundreds of University of Oregon Sustainable City Year Program students who developed renderings and recommendations, including a proposed bridge across the Lake at the Commons.
Specific plans already identified include a public-private partnership to redevelop one square block bounded by SW Seneca Street, SW 84th Avenue, SW Nyberg Street, and SW Boones Ferry Road. A Riverfront Park on six acres of city-owned land next to the Juanita Pohl Center is planned to begin construction in 2029.
