Tigard High School's girls soccer team has not lost a game this season, carrying a 6-0-2 record into Three Rivers League play that opens Tuesday, Oct. 6 against Lake Oswego.

The turnaround is sharp.

In 2025, the Tigers went 4-8-4 and lost 3-0 to Grant in the first round of the state playoffs. Three top performers missed that season with injuries, head coach Scott Eggleston told Your Oregon News.

So the program changed its offseason. Eggleston said the team committed to a summer strength-training and injury-prevention program, and the results have shown through eight preseason contests.

"We committed to a different approach over the summer, spending time in the weight room focusing on strength training and injury-prevention work," Eggleston said.

The Tigers return 17 varsity players and are ranked No. 6 in the state by the OSAA. Through their first seven completed matches before a Sept. 29 win at Forest Grove, Tigard had conceded just five goals with three shutouts while scoring 18.

Three co-captains lead the roster. Sophomore Miriya Kira, voted captain by her teammates, is the youngest. She shares the armband with seniors Sam Mao and Ella Naser.

Naser is a four-year varsity starter whom Eggleston called one of the top center backs in the state. Mao plans to play soccer and study nursing at George Fox University after graduation.

Senior goalkeeper Brianna Burum rounds out the leadership group. Eggleston said Burum doesn't wear the captain's band but called her "absolutely a captain on the field," crediting her consistency and communication.

Eggleston said the team still needs to sharpen its finishing in the attacking third, converting more scoring chances into shots on target. The coach's stated goal for league play: compete for and win the TRL title.

Tigard's early TRL schedule lines up six matches in three weeks. After Lake Oswego on Oct. 6, the Tigers host St. Mary's Academy on Thursday, Oct. 8, then travel to West Linn on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Lakeridge visits Thursday, Oct. 15.

The rivalry match at Tualatin is set for Tuesday, Oct. 20, followed by a trip to Oregon City on Thursday, Oct. 22.
