Tigard High student-athletes a week into fall practices can lock in their schedules, pay ASB fees and get their school photos taken at the school's "Ready, Set, Roar" orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The event, held in the THS Commons, offers two sessions: 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 8 p.m. Students only need to attend one.

Fall sports practices across the Tigard-Tualatin School District began Monday, Aug. 17, according to the district athletics calendar. That means football, soccer, volleyball, cross country, water polo, cheerleading, dance and esports athletes will already be a week into training when orientation rolls around.

The orientation doubles as a practical checkpoint before the first day of school on Tuesday, Sept. 1. All students can view their class schedules and pay fees, including ASB fees that help fund student activities and athletics. Incoming freshmen get extras: a Chromebook pickup and a free school t-shirt.

The THS website lists the evening session as "Ready, Set, Roar/Back to School Night," suggesting additional programming for families during the 4–8 p.m. window. No specific cost for ASB fees was listed in the announcement.

Both sessions take place in the Commons. Families needing more details can check the THS website for updates as the Aug. 25 date approaches.
