Tualatin residents interested in shaping the city's public art will have a chance to sit in when the Arts Advisory Committee meets in person Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. at Tualatin Community Park, 8511 SW Tualatin Road.
The agenda lists two substantive items: future program planning and a mural touch-up. No further details on either item have been published. The format changes from the committee's July 21 session, which was held via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday's meeting is in person.
What the committee does
Appointed by the Tualatin City Council, the committee advises on public art, community arts grants and cultural programming. According to the city's website, its mission is to support and inspire the integration of all art forms into Tualatin's cultural life.
Residents may recognize several of its programs: the Arts Agency Contribution Grant, which has funded concerts and dance classes at the Winona Grange and theatrical productions at the Tualatin Heritage Center; the signal box wrap art on traffic cabinets around town; and the Living Room Gallery at the Tualatin Public Library, which has featured more than 25 local artists since 2012.
As of December 2025 meeting minutes, the committee was chaired by Janet Steiger Carr, with members Brett Hamilton, Brenna White and Kalli Savage. Councilor Bridget Brooks serves as the council liaison. Staff support comes from Parks & Recreation Director Dustin Schull and Recreation Manager Julie Ludemann.
